Dear friends,
As promised, here are pictures, lots of pictures, from this past weekend's Homecoming festivities. I hope you all enjoy them :)! This blog is part just part one, and only has pictures from Songfest, which was an absolute blast! I can't wait to do it again next year (INDEPENDENT WOMEN WILL DOMINATE). Knight Hall's skit was awarded Best Georgetown Spirit, and I am so proud of all my KH ladies! Everyone worked so hard, and we did wonderful. I love all of the girls that participated in our skit, as well as the RA's of Knight who were always at our practices to help us prepare. One of them, Becca, even took my lines because I have laryngitis! I was really sad that I got sick and didn't get to be more involved/have my lines on Thursday and Friday, but I'm pleased to say that the show went just fine without me :). Thank goodness for the Wellness Center!!
Overall, Songfest was a really great experience, and I'm so glad Georgetown offers activities like this for its students. I knew Songfest was a big deal, but up until Thursday and Friday when we performed our skits, I had no idea how big of a deal it was. Every hall went all out with costumes, props, dances, and make-up. Now, when I say they went all out, I mean they went all out. Body paint, teased hair, glitter wigs, huge decorated props, and amazing dances are what this year's Songfest was all about. Everyone's skit was hilarious and very "jungle-y," and Knight Hall's Fresh Prince rap went over well with the audience :). So, without further ado, here are the promised Songfest pictures:
